Salma ElBanna was born in the city of Alexandria, Egypt in 1983. Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts (Interior design department ) -Alexandria University in 2005.
She is a mixed media and abstract artist. She was the resident artist in Manarat Al Saadiyat’s Art studio Abu Dhabi (Sep.to Dec.2019)
She has exhibited her art works in Alexandria ,Abu Dhabi & Dubai in multiple group exhibitions, such as ‘L’Atelier d’Alexandrie’ in Alexandria, Egypt 1998-2000; ‘Affordable Art’ Art Hub in Abu Dhabi 2014-2015; ‘HONALFAN II’ at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi 2016, ‘In Resident’ Exhibition in Manarat Al Saadiyat January 2020, Group exhibition ”Maheera” in Abu Dhabi culture foundation November 2020 as well as “Narratives” Group exhibition in Etihad Modern Gallery Abu Dhabi June 2021.
Her painting “Nothing stops us “ won first place in NOON Awards 4th Edition in Sharjah-UAE.
With six years of experience teaching art education, She has led workshops for children and adults in several art centre’s located in Abu Dhabi.
She is currently based in Abu Dhabi.
